About Us
Leighton Buzz Radio is here to serve the community of Leighton Buzzard. We are an entirely voluntary organisation, no-one is paid for the work they do. Here are our aims:-
- Promote all that is good about the Leighton Buzzard area to support our local economy
- Providing publicity for community events
- Providing publicity for charities, not-for-profits and other organisations that benefit our community
- Attending community events
- Broadcasting news and essential information for our listeners specific to the Leighton Buzzard area
- Allowing a platform for the community to express their opinions
- Provide training and opportunities to learn new skills
- Fundraise for local charity
- Provide an environment of friendship, support and inclusion for our volunteers
Our commitments to you
- We will provide the training you need to become a presenter on our station
- We will be available to answer your questions and provide feedback as required
- We will provide access to the radio stations systems so you can present on our station
- Your commitment to us
- You will complete this training and the practice sessions within 8 weeks. If you do not complete the training within this time we will assume you are not able to volunteer with us at the moment
- Everyone completes the training even if they have presented on radio before
- You will track your training and let us know when you have completed each training task and be responsible for requesting reviews
- Once you have completed the training you will complete a minimum of 6 months at the station presenting one show a week (aside from holidays, sickness or unavoidable commitments)
- At all times when you are presenting on our station, you will uphold the guidelines and standards you learned in your training
