Leighton Buzz Radio volunteers gather for chuckles and cocktails.
Ollie Vees was last night’s venue for the Leighton Buzz Radio volunteer’s annual Christmas bash. The first Tuesday in each month is open mic comedy night featuring new and seasoned stand-up comedians trying out and honing their material.
The LB Radio team laughed their little socks off with 10 very talented comedians all compared by our own radio presenter Johnny Murph. Johnny presents two shows here on Leighton Buzz Radio; ‘Plenty of 70s’ and ‘Nostalgia for Beginners’ and in his spare time is out on the stand-up comedy circuit himself. Ollie Vees is becoming a firm favourite on the open mic comedy circuit the next night will Tuesday 7th February 2023 – a date for your diary
It is hard to explain Ollie Vees if you have never been. One comedian said he’d never done a gig inside a volcano before, another said he felt like he was on his honeymoon! Think tropical Tiki bar with a touch of bizarre, plenty of rum cocktails and a cosy atmosphere. Owner Billy, who is an incredible supporter of Leighton Buzzard’s music and arts scene, has a collector’s eye for artefacts and brings her own flair to the upbeat music and vibe.
If you would like to immerse yourself in the full Ollie Vees experience then get yourself booked on the New Year’s Eve Wang Dang Doodle.
