I Know We’re Only Volunteers but We Like It

Leighton Buzz Radio was launched at the Leighton Buzzard May Day Fair in 2019.

Since 2019 our station and the rest of the world went through many changes.  We are proud of the shows we produced to entertain children during lockdown, jumping on the mics to cover the LB earthquake (even before the bigger stations and news channels) and many other local and national events.

Who We Are

We are a local station, run by local people and ALL of us are volunteers, no-one here is paid and just to be clear no-one claims any expenses or costs either. Nothing, nada, not a penny.

We are also proud that most of our volunteers have come to us with little or no experience in radio and they receive our free training to get broadcasting.  The training is on industry leading software so it adds real value to a CV.

 

Keeping Going – The Money Stuff

We have a very few advertisers and sponsor supporters that have kept our station going (see our sponsors and advertisers) we love them for their amazing continued contribution.

Leighton Buzz Radio needs more support to keep delivering what we do but also to take the station to the next level of broadcasting; DAB.  With DAB we will be able to reach more local people, be more accessible in the car and at home and support the town by spreading it’s great news further and wider.
